What are the best places in Costa Rica to see animals?
Costa Rica
has several ecosystems and each is very unique and special.Though Costa Rica is
a small country, it contains a surprising 5% of the world’s biodiversity. To
preserve this natural resource, about 25% of Costa Rica’s territory is
protected as national parks and other nature reserves.
Throughout
the country you can see animals, but sometimes it may be difficult if you are
not used to the behavior of some animals; hence the importance of having a
naturalist guide with your family.

when looking for wildlife:
Taking a boat tour
Consider
taking a boat and a guide, the river sides are excellent places to see
wildlife, including monkeys, toucans, sloths, plants, basilisks.
Visiting national parks or reserves
The best
time to see wild life is in the morning or afternoon depending on the weather
around 4:30 pm.
VolcanPoas is perfect for landscape photos and to see the main crater, but take into account weather conditions. You can visit if you are on your way to Arenal Volcano.

Hotels:
Some hotels
and lodges have beautiful gardens and open areas that makes it perfect for a
walk in the morning with their children. Some even have naturalist guides with
scopes to see animals more closely.
In la
Fortuna- Arenal volcano area there is a reforestation project called eco-danauswhich
is 3 hectares in size. It is ideal for young children who cannot walk much; and
you could see sloths, poison dart frogs, lizards, butterflies and many birds.
